The Texas Hollow Out & Back lies within the Texas Hollow State Forest located in the Fingers Lake region of central New York. The trail is a infrequently trafficked 6 mile out and back that cuts diagonally across the forest beginning at Texas Hollow Road and terminating at Steam Mill Road.

The terrain is fairly flat with a mixture of closed and open canopy. The hike circles around one small body of water and cuts through two more within its first mile and a half before cutting across Newton Road.

Portions of the trail are closed during hunting season beginning in mid October and running through December. When the trail is closed during this time of the year it will be clearly marked as such. Dogs are allowed both on and off leash and the small ponds and marshes make excellent locations to spot the numerous wildlife that call them home.
